Elmässan 2025

The electrical and lighting industry gathered on October 15-16 2025 at Kistamässan in Stockholm for Elmässan 2025. Among the many innovations on display, suspended lighting systems clearly emerged as a key trend, combining design, flexibility and sustainability.

What stood out in lighting?

  • Linear-suspension systems: Many exhibitors showcased pendant and profile lights, reflecting global insights that the market for linear suspended lighting is growing significantly in 2025. These systems allow for long, uninterrupted runs of light, ideal for commercial spaces, open offices or modern interiors.
  • Smart-enabled fixtures: Several suspended lights on display featured integrated lighting control functions, enabling dimming, colour-temperature adjustment, scene setting and connectivity with building systems. This ties into the larger trend of “smart and connected lighting” in 2025.
  • Minimalist & architectural design: Suspended luminaires were increasingly sleek, with discreet profiles, modular construction and finishes that blend into the ceiling plane, consistent with the “invisible fixture” movement.
  • Sustainability at the core: From recycled materials to high-efficiency LEDs, many of the new suspended fixtures featured eco-friendly design choices and high performance, aligning with global lighting trends. Among the highlights was Fagerhult’s launch of their new luminaire Wrapped. A luminaire made in Sweden and the body is constructed from solid board, a hard recycled cardboard material. This gives it up to 89% lower climate impact per kilogram compared to virgin aluminium.
