Acoustics
With more than 25 years of experience, Alemtek develops and supplies wire suspension for acoustic products – wire grippers, steel wire, ceiling attachments and complete suspension kits. We handle the suspension system from first concept to series production, so your team stays focused on the acoustic product.
Common challenges in acoustic suspension
Position and drop height: Absorption depends on where the panel sits. Distance from the ceiling, distance from walls and the angle of the panel all change the acoustic result, so the suspension has to hold a specified drop and hold it repeatably. Adjustable grippers let the installer set the height on site and lock it without tools.
Attachment to soft materials: Fabric, foam and mineral fibre each need a different attachment method. Whether the wire fixes into the panel material or into a frame changes the wire ending, the load path and the installation time. We specify the ending to suit the panel construction – Find all wire endings.
Installation time: Acoustic projects mean high unit counts. A ceiling of 80 baffles is 80 suspensions setups, so minutes per unit decide the labour cost. Pre-assembled kits, cut to length, remove measuring and cutting from the site work.
Movement and stability: Large or irregular panels move in air currents from HVAC systems, and movement affects both appearance and performance. Multi-point suspension controls rotation and drift.
Aesthetics: Acoustic products are usually specified to blend in, and the suspension should not be the thing that draws the eye. Grippers are available in several sizes and in nickel, black or white, matched to the panel or to the ceiling above it.
Documentation: Public and commercial installations bring documentation requirements. We supply tensile test reports, from our own facility or an independent third party, and full material traceability by production batch.
Working with Alemtek: concept to series production
Concept and design: We start from your panel – its weight, construction and mounting points – and specify from there.
Development:Â CAD drawings, in-house prototyping, free samples, tested load data, and custom tooling where volume justifies it.
Testing: Every production batch is tensile tested and documented. Reports available on request, for any product in the range.
Packaging and kits: Ready-to-use suspension kits, packed to suit your assembly line or supplied directly for your installer.
Ongoing supply: Delivery reliability, compliance documentation with each batch, and direct access to the people who develop the products.
Partnership: We work with designers, product developers, production, quality and purchasing – because a wire suspension system touches all of them.
