Safety wire
A safety wire gives a mounted object a secondary attachment to the ceiling, wall or structure. Whether the object is suspended or fixed with screws, the safety wire prevents it from falling if the main fixing fails or is released, for example during maintenance.
When to use a safety wire
A safety wire adds a second level of security where a falling object would cause serious harm or damage. Typical applications include:
